I spent the day yesterday just being lazy. I got to watch the NASCAR race I DVR'd from Sunday, (since I was on the road to Indiana and the radio is dead in the car...) and I didn't even get dressed until time to go to supper. Supper was a little disappointing, I wanted to go to one of my favorite restaurants on this end of town, Don Pablo's, and it had closed like for good. I should have ate a little closer to home in one of the smaller Mexican restaurants i guess. I had forgot home much apathy I have about the food at the Outback Steakhouse next to the empty husk that once was Don Pablo's.
Today was weird. Nobody called me all day. Maybe Crazy Lady from Down the Street has finally got the message that we are tired of cleaning up the same messes for her time after time and don't want to do it any more. Or else she found another ride to go get money to get drunk on and will call at some other point when she has drunk enough to forget that hubby told her not to call anymore...
I did finally get the rotten apples that have fell from the apple trees cleaned up and started watering the yard today. Even got a few loads of Laundry done as well as most of the dishes. It's amazing what can be accomplished when your day is not constantly interrupted by someone who just wants "a little favor". I suppose I should finished the dishes but somehow I really don't care at this point. I like the quiet I have at the moment as the rest of the family is gone for a bit. It's so nice here with school started and after school activities...

Hoping yours went well. I went to my sister's for the real turkey day and cooked for ours today. I will not be fixing another turkey until next Thanksgiving so the family better enjoy it now...
Buddy the Goober Dog loves food. Since I had him to the vets early this summer for a allergy related ear infection, he has gained 10 pounds. The problem with putting him on a diet is that we also have Mr. Chewy the World's Mightiest Hunter (in His Own Mind). There is not one ounce of fat on Mr. Chewy. If it weren't for his fluffy fur, people would thing we were starving him. He just is very active and only spends as much time as he needs for a good meal at the bowl. If he could only teach that to Buddy...
Despite the fact that I only fix turkey once a year, those dogs have kept an eye on me every since they smell that raw turkey enter the house. Does anyone know how hard it is to fix a thanksgiving meal while continually stepping over an 80 pound and a 40 pound dog? They did not want that bird out of their sight... Think I have given them too many scraps while carving the bird in the past. *sigh*
I think I will be thankful for healthy, happy dogs even if one of them is fat. The kids will beg to differ as they have canine company while doing the dishes right now...
