I have soooo much to do today and I spent a large part of the day fighting a migrane. Need less to say, not much is done yet. and tomorrow we leave to get a head start on StormCon.... I haven't even gather up all the Dragonstorm stuff let alone packed... GAH!

Today was my eldest's last of work - her internship is over. As much as I hated being the chaufeur, now I will have her underfoot here at the house also. Good thing I will be gone this weekend and next... Next weekend I will be going to a Women of Faith Conference with my sister and mother. Poor hubby will have to shift for himself and the kids. He will probably enjoy it....

No I did not win the chair... a lady artist from Yellow Springs Ohio (about 30 minutes from me) did.... Pretty close considering the artist blog that offered the chair is from Australia.

Not much gets done around here anymore - I spend all my life (it seems) sitting in a car waiting on my eldest for this and that and.... We gotta get her her driving license just so I can get a life back. What's worse? The youngest will be eligible to get her temps here in about a week. I don't have time to take her out to even take the test. Once again the youngest gets the short end of the stick in favor of the oldest.

Trying to do a bit of art work but it is slow going. I usually give a painting to each person that leaves the praise band at church but this summer I haven't kept up. I'm 3 pictures behind. *sigh* Just the thought is making me want to go back to bed and hide under the covers.

In a few weeks is StormCon, the new convention just for DragonStorm players. I am looking forward to it as that will be the last planned vacation until Pentacon in Nov. Now to add to my list of chores (that will not get done soon) the process of creating a couple of new scenarios to run at the con. Anybody got any good ideas? Mine are usuallly rather simple and boring...

A few months ago I told a friend that for the first time in years, I was not stressing over money. Famous last words. It is becoming harder to stretch what I'm getting over the bills once again. And I forgot to budget in the fact that with our current mortgage, we are paying the real estate taxes ourselves - every half year. Well, I had to dip into my savings that I had been working on (remember not stressing about money?) to pay part. *sigh* I need to have a better memory to remember when things like that are due... Perhaps it will get better soon? I gotta find a way to earn a bit of extra cash, if just for my own piece of mind.

Am hoping to get back into art for myself. I finally got to the garage and uncovered the table I had set up for myself, currently it has a project I was asked to do for a going away present for our minister. This is a new one - painting a terra cotta pot. Originally they wanted me to paint a picture of the Ymca (where we hold services) on it but after really goofing up and having to sand it down, I just decoupaged a photo of the Y on it then did some writing. Cross your fingers everyone, because I don't have a lot of time to do another before they want to give it to her.

Went to the Origins Convention last week and had a good time. It was good to see old friends and play Dragonstorm. I hope that everyone else had fun too - that I didn't piss anyone off too bad. *sigh* I need another vacation...

The election is over, thank God! I am so sick of all the political back stabbing, the stupid mudslinging commercials and arguments over things that won't matter in the long run. However I cannot say that I am relieved at the outcome. I would not be relieved at the outcome even if the other person had won. There I publicly said it - I did not like either of the major candidates. One was clearly out of touch with reality (at least MY reality since I'm not in his social sect...) and the other could talk pretty.... I am wary of people who talk pretty. They have a way of making you think they said something that you want to hear. I am trying to take a wait and see attitude but I woke up this morning with a knot in the bottom of my stomach. As Hans Solo would say, "I don't have a good feeling about this".

The minotaur horns/ double cornucopia is done. It no longer looks quite like minotaur horns, which is good since this is for use at church. I don't think that minotaur horns would go over at church very well. We have a few people that didn't even feel that Harry Potter Books should be read by Christians - there was magic involved. *sigh*



I am looking forward to Pentacon this weekend. It should be a good weekend away form here for a while. It is always good to see friends old and new, while trying to escape reality for a short period.

UP and down week... I think I finally got myself back in order at least. Now if the rest of the world would let me stay that way.

A week last Friday was supposed to be a DragonStorm game. I was going to be late as I had to be at a wedding rehearsal but I thought I could still make it an hour late. Somehow that become "She can't make it" to someone and when someone else couldn't make it, the game got canceled. *sigh* But that was evened out since this past Friday became a DragonStorm game that was not a regularly schedualed one with friends from Cleveland coming down to Columbus. It is good to be out and be with real live adults even if it is to only play games.

The block on Crazy Lady from Down the Street but now in Jail and her aggravating phone calls went through. *YEAH* Only now she calls other people to call us, *BOO* Last night she convinced someone there at the jail to call us from another number. What part of Blocked Number is so hard to understand? This will NOT continue...

Am working on a new paper mache project. It's a wonder my fingers are not glued together. Heres to hoping that it actually turns out o.k. The other project for the week was using wood from the garage along with other bits and pieces of Projects Long Gone and/or Things That Broke to create a pole lamp for a grow light form my plants. I hope to get through the winter this year with them looking less ratty by the time Spring arrives. Hubby tells me the police are gonna come knocking since grow lights are the dominion of the Marijuana Growers of Dayton. I'll just offer him up to the police since he thinks that is a great joke...

'Bout time to get off this computer and back to writing. Still have one scenario to finish writing before the Great Gaming Convention of Pentacon. It is slowly taking shape, I think. I'm not sure I'm happy with it right now but who knows what will happen anyway with it once the PCs get involved. Things have a way of getting changed on the spot if not actually going WAY off track...

Life with Crazy Lady seems to have slowed down. Other than getting mad when I told her that I could not take her to her Lawyer's office (she called the night before her appointment and I had already made other plans which I was not going to change as it affected other people) I have not talked to her. I know she knew more than one night ahead that she had an appointment with her Lawyer, we are talking about a lawyer here who has to plan everything more than one day ahead! why she didn't call and ask days in advance so that there was time to make other plans I will never know nor do I care.

My grapes started getting ripe this week, I have been making grape juice to turn into jelly (hopefully) soon. I hadn't done this for a while so I forgot how messy and time consuming it can be. I have another bucket of Grapes just sitting in the kitchen right now waiting on me... *sigh* I'm lazy...

Looking forward to the DragonStorm Game this evening. It should be an interesting time and it is always good to get out of the house just to talk with other people. I should be painting my mini for the the game but the laundry is calling and the grapes are calling and I'm sitting here on this computer...

I finally got the few pictures I took in West Virginia off my phone... I was half way to work on the Monday night of the trip when I remembered that my camera was still sitting on the computer at home. Since I have never used the camera portion of the phone before I did not think to use it very much on the trip and then had to have my kids tell me how to get the pics off. I am such a technical person... *sigh*

The above picture is from the New River Gorge area. It is such a beautiful place, I could go back and see more of it. The problem with a bus tour is that all your time is planned, there is not enough time to really look at what you want to look at and then more time than you need at other stops. But since I got to spend time with my Mom, it was worth it.


This is a ball room at the Greenbrier Resort. I just had to take this picture because I didn't think that anyone I regularly associate would ever believe me that there exists a room for public use that is this pink. Have I ever mentioned before that pink is NOT my favorite color? Probably not... I don't think this is a room I would ever want to use but for those who DO like the color, have fun!

Am now getting to play DragonStorm on a bi-weekly basis. This is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. I hope that the rest of the group will agree... And on the subject of DS, I guess it is time to start planning senarios again. Pentacon is coming and they want write ups for the pre-reg book by Sept. 5th. That is not that far away!

Spent yesterday at my Aunt and Uncle's place in Southern Indiana. They had invited the whole family (all the cousins, in-laws, out-laws and associated others) to a hotdog roast for the day. It was nice to see the family as I had not seen many of then for over a year. We have spread out over the midwest to such a point that getting all of us together is near impossible! I hope to get the pics off the camera (Yes I remembered it this time) soon but I'm feeling a little lazy about that today...

Don't really feeling getting into everything right now so will leave this alone for now. Hope all have had a good Labor Day weekend!

I cannot get anyone out in the garage when I WANT them to help clean or sumptin' however, set up a table and start to paint and suddenly here they all come...

Spend a lot of yesterday and today out at the painting table. I did get one painting done but I don't like how it scanned. I guess I will have to play with the scanner and see if I can improve the scanning but I don't know...I really don't know what it wants, I think it is really just a cheap scanner. Or that's my story and I'm sticking to it...


Got to get out and play Dragonstorm last night. Always good to get out and see friends. I think I had the most useless character once again. maybe it's just me...

need to get moving and cleanup for D&D tonight. We are still doing 3.5 and I hope that doesn't change. I have not been really partial to what I've seen of 4.0. *sigh* why do things have to change? Oh yeah, to make more money for the Company...

I snuck out of the house and into the backyard today, it such a nice sunny day. There were some limbs that needed to be taken down as well as some shrubby growth to remove...and this lead me to my lilac "tree". Now there was one limb on it that was a problem, it was so low that I could not get under it with the weed eater so I determined to remove it. However it was covered with nice lilac blooms... most of those blooms followed me into the house. I love the smell of lilacs...


This weekend is Marcon, another great Gaming festival. I am SO looking forward to going, even if I am already sleep deprived. This had not been a kind week...Maybe the lilacs will bring good luck? Here's to hoping for a great end of the week.....
